Online learning with Laurie Cooper, owner of the KZN School of Wine, Winner of the Moet et Chandon young Sommelier of the year, Master of Wine student, and Winemaker at Abingdon Wine Estate.
For anyone that enjoys an evening tipple, but wants to know more, this course is for you! Enjoy interactive discussions and tastings with Laurie over a 3 day period as well as a full study programme to complete in the comfort of your home. The course programme includes: Wine varieties and how to tell them apart How to pair wine with food Guides to buying the right wine for every occasion Understanding wine jargon Serving temperatures and how to store your wine The winemaking process from vine to bottle Wine etiquette
At the end of the 3 day course, candidates will complete an online multiple choice exam and successful candidates will be issued with a certificate of completion from the KZN School of Wine
Cost of the 3 day Course: R400 per person
Included in the course: Candidates will receive online study materials We will conduct two 1 hour online interactive sessions with Laurie and the class - 1) an introductory session to open discussion about wine, course content and any wine questions you may have. 2) A fun wine tasting session. This can done with any wine you have at home from a simple easy drinking Sauvignon Blanc to a full bodied Cabernet. We will aim to discuss the different wines, varieties and taste profile of a range of wines around the class. Guided activities to take you through the course content. A final assessment at the end of the course consisting of 30 multiple choice questions to be conducted online.
